Migrate users from OD to Google with Mosyle

As always test test test. This process assumes you have set up your environment to use mobile accounts that do not sync. It should not matter what directory you are moving away from, the steps would be the same. Must have some sort of admin account or be able to delete a user from the command line while retaining the user’s home directory.

Steps:

1. Delete the user and maintain the user’s home directory
   • During this process the user’s home folder should be renamed to $usernamedeleted
2. Rename $usernamedeleted back to just $username
3. Via profile remove the directory bind profile
4. in Mosyle add the device to the Mosyle Auth 2 profile
5. in Mosyle ensure the mosyle id is the $username ( no spaces ) it should be named exactly the same as the home folder’s name.
